Learning the English language and its eccentricities confuses people the world over…including Brits.

As with any language, sitting alone conjugating verbs is boring.

Studying how to spell correctly is confusing.

Yet we force ourselves to do these tasks to so we will be able to speak and listen better in the future.

What we don’t do while we are alone is speak and listen to native speakers!

Having the ability to converse or chat with a native is the main reason we struggle to learn. We should be doing this all the time not at the end of our tuition.

My name is Hollie and I’ve been teaching English to adults and children in Barcelona for two years. I have also led BarcaIngles English Language Conversation Meet-ups, and worked within businesses to improve all aspects of English language skills.

As a teacher I focus on providing an environment for students to speak and listen, as well as helping them improve their grammar and pronunciation skills.  Often people lack the opportunity to use the skills they have learnt on a daily basis, thus fluency is hard to achieve.
